Syntax is a theme designed with writing — and reading — in mind. With large, easy-to-read type, a fixed navigation menu, and a responsive design that looks beautiful on all screen sizes, it’s perfect for writers who want a minimal design that lets their content take center stage.
Syntax‘s primary menu is tucked behind a tab on the left side of the screen. Click the open menu icon to see it:
A second, single-level custom menu is located in the site’s footer:
Configure these menu areas by going to Appearance → Menus.
You can add links to your Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, and Tumblr accounts to your site’s header by following these steps:
- Connect these services to Publicize, by going to Settings → Sharing.
- Once connected, navigate to the Customizer, where you’ll find a new Connect panel.
- Select the accounts you want to link to and their respective icons will appear in the footer.
Assigning a Featured Image to your post will display the image above and behind your content on the blog archive and index.
Pull quotes can be used to highlight your content and break up large blocks of text with a unique visual treatment. Adding a class of
aligncenter to a
blockquote element, and will float the quote into the margin, or center it.
Syntax supports three columns of widgets in the site’s footer. Add some widgets by going to Appearance → Widgets.
